Inauguration Ceremony of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree Programme conducted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

The Inaugural ceremony for the 2025 intake of new students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Sinhala and English medium degree programs, offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Nāgānanda International Institute of Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) was held on 5th April at the Mezzanine Hall of the main auditorium.

For this occasion, several distinguished individuals and members of the academic community participated, including the Vice Chancellor of Nāgānanda International Institute of Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thera; Ven. Dr. Dampe Vijitharathana Thera, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies; Prof. P.B. Mandawala, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Prof. Praneeth Abeysundara, Visiting Lecturer in Anthropology; Dr. Ashoka Karunaratne, Academic Consultant and Lecturer in Applied Archaeology at NIIBS; Lect. Amila Nuwan, Visiting Lecturer in Anthropology; and Lect. Chathurangani Amarakoon, also a Visiting Lecturer in Anthropology.

In addition, the academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), members of the administrative staff, and students from both English and Sinhala mediums were present at the event.
