Bursar

Mr. Thiranjana Kuruvita Arachchi was appointed as the Bursar of the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) in October 2026. He is an experienced finance and corporate affairs professional with extensive experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, auditing, regulatory compliance, and organisational administration across the educational, food and beverage, and corporate sectors.

He previously served as the Bursar of NIIBS from April 2020 to June 2022, during which he was responsible for financial operations, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, fee collection, payroll administration, and audit coordination. His professional career also includes serving as Deputy Manager of Corporate Affairs and Assistant Finance Manager at Perera & Sons (Bakers) (Pvt) Ltd, as well as working as an Accountant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He holds a Master in Business Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Colombo. His professional qualifications include Certified Membership of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), Certified Business Accountant status from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Fellowship of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka, and Associate Membership of the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka. He has also completed a Diploma in Psychology and Counselling at IMBS Green Campus and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. With his broad professional experience, academic background, and expertise in financial administration, Mr. Thiranjana brings valuable knowledge and practical leadership to the financial management and administrative functions of NIIBS.
