NIIBS is a degree awarding institute recognized by the Government of Sri Lanka under the provisions of the Universities Act No.16 of 1978.
Mr. Nimalasiri Gallage was appointed as the Bursar of the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) in January 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, obtained in 1985. He has been a Licentiate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka since 1986 and has further enhanced his professional qualifications with a Certificate in Management Development from the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (2003) and a Certificate in Office Tools & E-Commerce from NIIT, India (2005). Mr. Nimalasiri Gallage brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over four decades in the fields of finance and accounting.
His previous roles include Deputy Accountant at the University Grants Commission (2005 – 2022), Senior Assistant Bursar at the University of Ruhuna (2000 – 2004), and Project Accountant at the UNFPA under the Family Health Bureau of the Ministry of Health (1997 – 2000). He also served internationally as an Accountant at Saudi Diesel Generators Co. Ltd in Saudi Arabia from 1988 to 1996 and began his career as an Audit Trainee at Tudor V. Perera & Chartered Accountants (1983 – 1987).
