The inauguration ceremony for the admission of new students to the Master of Arts degree programme (Sinhala & English Medium) conducted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) was held on the 21st of February 2026 at the Mezzanine hall of the institute’s main auditorium.
Ven. Dr. Dampe Wijitharathana Thero, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies; Emeritus Prof. Asanga Tilakaratne, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies; Mr. Kumarasiri Herath – Bursar of NIIBS, Dr. Hasantha Samarasinghe – Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of Pali and Buddhist University, and Mr. Chandana Jagathnatha – Deputy Bursar of NIIBS participated on this occasion.
The other members of the Academic, Administrative and Non-Academic staff of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Buddhist Studies and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences also participated in this event.
