“ලෝකාර්ථචර්යානුයෝගී යතිවරයාණෝ” සැමරුම් උළෙල 

නාගානන්ද ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ නිර්මාතෘ හා වත්මන් උපකුලපති ආචාර්ය බෝදාගම චන්දිම නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේගේ ජන්ම දිනය සැමරීම සහ උන්වහන්සේගේ ලෝක ශාසනික මෙහෙවර අගයමින් තායිලන්තයේ පැරණිම රාජ්‍ය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයක් වන චූලාලංකෝර් විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය මගින් ගෞරව ආචාර්ය උපාධියක් පිරිනැමීම අරමුණු කරගෙන සංවිධානය කරන ලද “ලෝකාර්ථචර්යානුයෝගී යතිවරයාණෝ” සැමරුම් උළෙල 03 වන දින පස්වරුවේදී කැලණිය මානෙල්වත්තේ අප විශ්වවිද්‍යාලීය ප්‍රධාන ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විණි.

මෙම අවස්ථාවට මහා විහාරවංශික සියම් මහනිකායේ අස්ගිරි පාර්ශවයේ අනුනායක අතිපූජ්‍ය වෙඩරුවේ උපාලි නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, අතිපූජ්‍ය නාරම්පරනාවේ ආනන්ද අනුනාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා අමරපුර මහා නිකායේ අභිනව උත්තරීතර මහානායක අතිපූජ්‍ය කරගොඩ උයන්ගොඩ මෛත්‍රීමූර්ති නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා රාමඤ්ඤ මහා නිකායේ මහානායක අතිපූජ්‍ය මකුලෑවේ ශ්‍රී විමල නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, කෝට්ටේ ශ්‍රී කල්‍යාණි සාමග්‍රි ධර්ම මහා සංඝ සභාවේ අනුනායක මහාචාර්ය කොටපිටියේ රාහුල නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රික සමාජවාදී ජනරජයේ හයවන විධායක ජනාධිපති මෛත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේන මැතිතුමා, ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ විපක්ෂ නායක සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මැතිතුමා, හිටපු කතානායක කරු ජයසූරිය මැතිතුමා, හිටපු ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ අමාත්‍යවරුන් වන රංජිත් මද්දුම බණ්ඩාර, රාජිත සේනාරත්න, පාඨලී චම්පික රණවක, බන්දුල ගුණවර්ධන, ඩලස් අලහප්පෙරුම, අනුර ප්‍රියදර්ශන යාපා, තිස්ස අත්තනායක, විමල් වීරවංශ, ලසන්ත අලගියවන්න යන මැති ඇමතිවරුන් සහ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දිලිත් ජයවීර මැතිතුමා ප්‍රමුඛ ගිහි පැවිදි ආරාධිතයන් 800ක පමණ පිරිසක් සහභාගීවීම ද සුවිශේෂී විය.

A commemorative ceremony titled “Lokārthacharyānuyogī Yathivarayāṇō” was held on the afternoon of the 3rd at the main auditorium of our university in Manelwatta, Kelaniya. The event was organized to mark the birthday of the Founder and current Vice Chancellor of Nāgānanda International Buddhist University, Dr. Bodagama Chandima Nayaka Thero, and to honour his global service to the Buddha Sasana, on the occasion of the conferral of an Honorary Doctorate by Chulalongkorn University, the oldest state university in Thailand.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Anunayaka of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Nikaya, Most Venerable Wedaruwe Upali Nayaka Thero; Most Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Anunayaka Thero; the newly appointed Supreme Mahanayaka of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Karagoda Uyangoda Maitrimurthi Nayaka Thero; the Mahanayaka of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Makulewe Sri Vimala Nayaka Thero; and the Anunayaka of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha, Professor Most Venerable Kotapitiye Rahula Nayaka Thero.

Also in attendance were the Sixth Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena; the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Sajith Premadasa; former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya; former senior ministers Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Rajitha Senaratne, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Bandula Gunawardena, Dullas Alahapperuma, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Tissa Attanayake, Wimal Weerawansa, and Lasantha Alagiyawanna; and Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera. The participation of around 800 members of the clergy and lay invitees made the occasion especially significant.
