Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima, the founder and pioneering architect of the institute, came up with the wonderful vision of building the national education hub in the country. As per his vision, education is not only for knowledge enhancement, skill development, etc. but also to enhance harmony among ethnic, religious and many other groups divided due to various reasons. The total investment is more than 20 billion SLR, and now it has been donated to the children of this country.
As per the instructions of the Thero, the costing of the educational programmes was done without considering the investment recovery and so on. Therefore, we are 50% less than any private-sector university in the country. For example, our 4-year ICT degree would cost only 1.35 million per student, compared to 2.4 million or more at any other private university in the country.
