
NIIBS is a degree awarding institute recognized by the Government of Sri Lanka under the provisions of the Universities Act No.16 of 1978.
Eng. Chamath De Silva held various positions of responsibility, including Chairman of Water’s Edge Ltd from 2015 to 2019, Chairman of Way Forward Energy (Pvt) Ltd. since 2013, CEO of Power Asia International (Pvt) Ltd. from 2010 to 2019, Board Member of the National Health Development Fund from 2017 to 2019, Member of the Expert Advisory Committee at the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine from 2016 to 2019, Board Member of Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital from 2015 to 2019, Board Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology from 2013 to 2016 and Board Member of the Sustainable Energy Authority from 2010 to 2012. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) since 2023.
Eng. Chamath De Silva is renowned for his innovative contributions, particularly in process development, people management and product development, earning him recognition as an innovator. He has a notable entrepreneurial side as well, currently owning multiple companies across diverse business segments, and employing more than 86 highly skilled individuals. His expertise lies in identifying niche markets and effectively meeting their demands, often leading organizations into unexplored, blue ocean markets through his innovative approaches.
Eng. Chamath De Silva obtained his Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) degree from the University of Peradeniya in 1993 and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayawardanepura (PIM) in 2008. Further, he is Ph.D. Candidate (Doctor of Business Administration) at the Open University of Malaysia.
